Braised Red Cabbage

The cabbage dish

The apples and chives

peeled, cored, and thinly sliced, divided

Instructions
- Marinate half of the sliced apples with chives and half the vinegar for 10 minutes.
- In a pot, combine cabbage, red onion, and water, cooking until cabbage begins to soften.
- Add broth, remaining apples, and vinegar, then cover and cook until cabbage is softened.
- Remove from heat, add marinated apple mixture, and toss to combine. Season with salt and pepper.
