Ingredients

The cookie dough

  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • cup brown sugar
  • cup smooth peanut butter
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • cup rolled oats

The mix-ins

  • 1 cup M&M’s
  • 1 cup chopped dark chocolate
  • 1 cup chopped Butterfinger

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the peanut butter, vanilla extract, and egg until well blended.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt, then stir until just moistened.
  5. Mix in the oats and candies until evenly distributed.
  6. Drop rounded spoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheets.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges start to brown.
  8. Cool on cookie sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
