Caramelized Pear Steel-Cut Oats

Instructions
- Bring water to a boil in a small saucepan.
- Add a pinch of salt and the steel-cut oats, then cover and reduce heat to low.
- Cook for 15 minutes until the water is absorbed and the oats are tender.
- In a separate medium saucepan, heat butter or olive oil over medium heat.
- Add brown sugar and stir, then add the chopped pears, lemon juice, and cinnamon.
- Cover and cook for about 10 minutes until the pears are tender and golden brown.
- Remove the lid and cook a bit longer to caramelize the pears.
- Divide the oats into two bowls and top with the caramelized pears and optional toppings.
