Instructions
- Combine yeast, warm water, and a bit of sugar in a mixer bowl and let it rest.
- Add evaporated milk, remaining sugar, salt, shortening, egg, yolk, and vanilla to the mixture.
- Mix in half of the flour, then switch to a dough hook and add the remaining flour while kneading until smooth.
- Transfer the dough to an oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough and cut into doughnut shapes, then let them rise again.
- Heat shortening in a dutch oven to 360 degrees for frying.
- Prepare the glaze by mixing all glaze ingredients until smooth.
- Fry the doughnuts until golden brown on both sides, then dip in glaze while warm.
