Ingredients

The bagel dough

  • 1 ¾ cups self rising flour
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt

Toppings (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon butter of choice
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C/350F and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour and Greek yogurt, mixing until a thick ball of dough forms.
  3. Lightly flour a clean surface and transfer the dough onto it, adding extra flour on top.
  4. Knead the dough gently on both sides and flatten it into a circular shape.
  5. Divide the dough into 4 even portions and roll each into a sausage shape, connecting the ends to form bagels.
  6. Place the bagels on the lined baking tray and brush the tops with butter or an alternative.
  7. Sprinkle the tops with sesame seeds and/or poppy seeds if desired.
  8. Bake for 20-22 minutes or until golden brown, then allow to cool completely.
