Ingredients

The dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour or gluten-free flour blend
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons flax meal
  • ½ teaspoon fine salt
  • 1 cup full-fat plain thick yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 1 egg white beaten (for brushing)

Optional toppings

  • to taste Everything Bagel Seasoning
  • to taste poppyseeds
  • to taste dried garlic
  • to taste onion flakes
  • to taste sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and prepare a baking sheet.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, flax meal, and salt.
  3. Add yogurt and water to the dry ingredients and stir until crumbly.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface until slightly tacky.
  5. Divide the dough into 8 balls and shape each into a rope, connecting the ends to form bagels.
  6. Brush the tops with beaten egg white and add desired toppings.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool on the pan for 20 minutes before serving.
