Ingredients

  • 10 ounces high-fat butter
  • cups dark brown sugar
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste or extract
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • cups plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 8 ounces chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixer, combine butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, vanilla, and salt. Mix until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs and mix until blended.
  4. Whisk together flour and baking soda, then add to the dough and mix until combined.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips and mix quickly with a spatula.
  6. Portion the dough into balls weighing about 1 oz each and refrigerate for at least 24 hours.
  7. Place the dough balls on the baking sheets, spaced about 4 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-11 minutes until golden brown, then cool on a wire rack.
