Instructions
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt in a large bowl.
- In a medium bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients, stirring until a soft dough forms. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours or up to 3 days.
- After chilling, let the dough soften at room temperature for 10 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Scoop the dough into balls, shaping them taller rather than wider, and place them on the baking sheets.
- Bake for 12-13 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned. Cool on the baking sheets for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
