Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
- 2. In a bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- 3. Cream the softened butter until pale and fluffy, then mix in granulated and brown sugars until smooth.
- 4. Add the egg and vanilla, mixing until blended, and scrape the bowl as needed.
- 5. Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just combined.
- 6. Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- 7. Roll the dough into 1½-inch balls and place them on the baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- 8. Bake the cookies for about 10 minutes until the edges start to brown.
- 9. Remove from the oven, drop the baking sheets to release air bubbles, and return to the oven for an additional 2 minutes.
- 10. Cool on the baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
