Ingredients

The apples

  • 2 units apples

The glaze

  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Remove the core from the top and bottom of each apple.
  2. Slice the apples into ⅛-inch thick slices using a mandoline or sharp knife.
  3. In a small saucepan, combine maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and cayenne pepper. Cook for 5 minutes over medium heat, stirring frequently.
  4. Brush the apple slices with the glaze mixture.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F.
  6. Arrange the apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, cooking in batches if necessary.
  7. Air fry for 8 minutes, then flip each slice and cook for another 4 minutes.
  8. Reduce the heat to 325°F and cook for another 8 to 10 minutes until crispy.
  9. Allow the apple chips to cool before serving.
