Ingredients

The filling

  • 6 apples peeled and cored
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ cup sugar or sweetener of choice
  • 1 tablespoon butter

The topping

  • ½ cup gluten-free flour blend
  • ¾ cup rolled oats
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ cup butter (softened)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl, toss together the apples, lemon juice, and sugar.
  3. Melt the butter in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add the apples to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, then remove from heat.
  5. In another bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, and salt for the topping.
  6. Add the melted butter to the dry ingredients and mix until crumbly.
  7. Scatter the topping over the apples in the skillet.
  8. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the apples are cooked through.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.
