Ingredients

The filling

  • 6 cups peeled, sliced apples
  • ½–1 Tbsp. brown sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • ½ cup coconut milk (canned, full fat)
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon

The topping

  • ½ cup gluten-free all purpose flour
  • ¼ cup brown sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • 1 ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 3–4 Tbsp. coconut oil (or substitute butter)

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. 2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine sugar, coconut milk, and cinnamon, stirring until well combined.
  3. 3. Add the sliced apples and stir until all apples are coated.
  4. 4. Pour the apple mixture into a 9x13 baking dish.
  5. 5. In a separate bowl, mix flour, sugar, and cinnamon.
  6. 6. Cut in the coconut oil using two knives until a crumble forms, adding more oil as needed.
  7. 7. Sprinkle the topping over the apple mixture.
  8. 8. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown, then let it cool slightly before serving.
