Instructions
- Boil water in a pot and prepare the plantains by peeling and cutting them into 2-3 inch pieces.
- Boil the plantain pieces for 5 minutes.
- While the plantains boil, mix the ground beef with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then form into 3 large patties.
- Drain the plantains and smash them into flat 'buns' between parchment paper.
- Heat oil in a skillet and fry the smashed plantains until crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- In another skillet, cook the burger patties for about 5 minutes per side or until desired doneness.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a patty between two plantain buns with desired toppings.
