The sauce

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a thin layer of neutral oil.
  2. Add drained and rinsed chickpeas, BBQ sauce, and salt to the skillet, stirring to coat.
  3. Cook over medium heat, stirring every few minutes, until the sauce reduces, about 8 to 10 minutes.
  4. For crispier chickpeas, continue cooking for an additional 5 minutes.
  5. For the roasted option, preheat the oven to 425°F.
  6. Toss chickpeas with oil and salt, then spread on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Roast for 20 minutes, then drizzle BBQ sauce over chickpeas and toss to coat.
  8. Return to the oven for 5 to 10 minutes until the sauce is sticky.
