Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and adjust the oven rack to the middle position.
- 2. Spread the brown rice in an 8-inch square baking dish.
- 3. Bring the water and butter or oil to a boil, then stir in the salt and pour it over the rice.
- 4. Cover the baking dish tightly with two layers of foil.
- 5. Bake in the oven for about 1 hour until the rice is tender.
- 6. Remove from the oven, fluff the rice with a fork, then cover with a kitchen towel for 5 minutes.
- 7. Uncover and let it stand for an additional 5 minutes before serving.
