Ingredients

The yogurt

  • 1 quart whole milk
  • 1 package (5 grams) yogourmet yogurt starter

Special Equipment

  • 1 quart mason jar
  • 1 unit yogourmet yogurt maker
  • 1 unit instant read thermometer

Instructions

  1. Heat the milk in a medium pot to between 108°-112°F.
  2. Place the yogurt starter in the mason jar.
  3. Add ½ cup of heated milk into the starter, stirring until smooth.
  4. Pour the remainder of the milk into the mason jar, stirring well.
  5. Transfer the mason jar into the yogurt maker.
  6. Leave the mason jar uncovered and cover the yogurt maker.
  7. Ferment for 24 hours for SCD compliant yogurt.
  8. Serve the yogurt.
