Homemade Yogurt

plain whole milk yogurt
Instructions
- Heat the milk to 180 degrees Fahrenheit, then let it cool to 110-115 degrees.
- Set up a cooler with a bath towel inside and a pot of boiling water in the middle.
- Pour the warm milk into a large glass container and add the yogurt, stirring to combine.
- Place the glass container in the pot of water in the cooler and close the cover.
- Let it sit for 6 hours, then replace the water with fresh boiling water and let it sit for another 6 hours.
- After 12 hours, check the yogurt; if it's not ready, replace the water again and let it sit for an additional 6 hours.
- Once ready, chill the yogurt in the freezer for 20 minutes to thicken.
- Strain the yogurt through a cheesecloth to achieve the desired consistency.
