Sourdough Garlic-Herb Croutons

Ingredients

  • 4 cups sourdough bread cubes
  • tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon real butter
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon granulated onion/onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon granulated garlic
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1-2 tablespoons crumbled Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Combine salt, onion, garlic, oregano, and parsley in a small bowl and set aside.
  3. Melt the butter in the microwave and mix it with the olive oil.
  4. Place the bread cubes in a large bowl and drizzle the butter/oil mixture over them, tossing to coat evenly.
  5. Sprinkle the herb mixture over the bread cubes and toss again to coat well.
  6. Spread the cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-20 minutes, stirring and flipping every 5 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and toss with Parmesan cheese if desired, then let cool completely.
