Homemade Sourdough Croutons

sourdough bread, cut or torn into 1-inch cubes

Optional additions

garlic, finely minced

fresh rosemary, sage or thyme

lemon zest

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a large bowl, toss the sourdough bread cubes with enough olive oil to lightly coat them.
- Sprinkle with a generous pinch of salt, pepper, and any optional additions. Toss well and adjust seasoning to taste.
- Spread the mixture in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, stir, and continue baking until golden brown, another 3-5 minutes.
- Let the croutons cool completely before storing them in a sealed container for up to 2 weeks.
