Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups white whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup granulated sweetener of choice
  • 1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 tablespoons neutral flavored oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1 cup milk of choice

Optional Topping

  • 1 cup cream cheese frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a 9-inch springform cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all dry ingredients and mix well.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a thick and smooth batter forms.
  4. Pour the batter into the greased cake pan.
  5. Bake for 27-30 minutes, or until a skewer inserted comes out mostly clean.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely before adding frosting.
