Alfredo Sauce

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp flour
  • 1 ½ tsp minced garlic
  • ¾ cup heavy cream
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • 1 ½ cups freshly, finely shredded Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese
  • to taste salt
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. 2. Add flour and cook for 30 seconds while stirring constantly.
  3. 3. Add minced garlic and sauté until both flour and garlic are golden.
  4. 4. Slowly whisk in heavy cream and milk, cooking until the mixture simmers and thickens slightly.
  5. 5. Remove from heat and stir in Parmigiano-Reggiano until melted.
  6. 6. Keep warm until ready to toss with pasta.
