Ingredients

The pickles

  • 24 oz dill pickle slices

The batter

  • 1 egg egg
  • ¾ cup flour
  • ¾ cup buttermilk
  • tablespoons dried dill
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

The coating

  • 1¾ - 2 cups Panko breadcrumbs
  • as needed cooking oil spray

Instructions

  1. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking oil or use air fryer parchment paper.
  2. Dry the pickles completely to make them easier to bread.
  3. In a bowl, combine flour, dried dill, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add buttermilk and egg to the seasoned flour and mix well.
  5. In a separate bowl, place the Panko breadcrumbs.
  6. Dredge the pickles in the flour mixture, then coat with Panko breadcrumbs.
  7. Place the breaded pickles on a plate and freeze for 15 minutes to help the breading stick.
  8. Arrange the pickles in the air fryer without stacking, and spray with cooking oil.
  9. Cook at 400 degrees for 7-10 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown.
  10. Serve with ranch dressing or your favorite dipping sauce.
