Bouillon-Baked Tofu

Ingredients

The marinade

  • 2 tsp vegetable bouillon paste
  • ½ tsp freshly ground pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • 2 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil

The tofu

  • 1 package (14–16 oz.) firm tofu
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch

For serving

  • to taste Asian sweet chili sauce, ketchup, or other sauce of choice

Instructions

  1. Mix the marinade ingredients in a bowl and cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.
  2. Toss the tofu cubes in the marinade and let sit for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 400°F and prepare a baking sheet.
  4. Sprinkle cornstarch over the marinated tofu and toss to coat.
  5. Arrange the tofu on the baking sheet and bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Serve the baked tofu with your choice of dipping sauce.
