Ingredients

  • 6 cups raw sunflower seeds
  • ½ tsp Himalayan salt
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and spread the sunflower seeds on a baking sheet.
  2. Toast the seeds for 20-25 minutes, stirring frequently until they are lightly golden and fragrant.
  3. Allow the seeds to cool slightly before transferring them to a food processor.
  4. Process the seeds for 25-30 minutes, stopping every 2-3 minutes to scrape down the sides and break up clumps.
  5. After about 20 minutes, the seeds will start releasing oil and the mixture will become creamy; continue processing until smooth.
  6. Add the salt and vanilla extract, then process for one additional minute.
  7. Transfer the sunflower seed butter to an airtight glass jar and let it rest for a day for better flavor.
