  • 1-2 tablespoons unflavored oil (if using raw seeds)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and spread the sunflower seeds on a baking sheet.
  2. Toast the seeds for 5 to 15 minutes until lightly golden brown, stirring halfway.
  3. Let the seeds cool for a few minutes after toasting.
  4. Add the sunflower seeds to a high-powered blender or food processor and pulse until finely chopped.
  5. Process on low speed for 1 minute, then scrape down the sides.
  6. Continue processing on low for another minute until the mixture starts to clump together.
  7. If using raw seeds, add oil as needed and process again for 1 minute.
  8. Run the machine for an additional 1 to 2 minutes until the butter is creamy and smooth.
  9. Let the sunflower seed butter cool before transferring it to a jar.
