Ingredients

Donut Ingredients

  • 2 cups apple cider, reduced
  • 5 pieces eggs
  • ¼ cup honey
  • ½ cup coconut flour
  • ½ cup arrowroot flour
  • cups almond flour
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda

Topping

  • ½ cup coconut sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil

Other

  • to taste palm shortening (for greasing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 12-well donut pan with palm shortening.
  2. Simmer the apple cider in a small pot for about 15 minutes until reduced to 1 cup.
  3. Cool the reduced cider in the freezer for 10 minutes.
  4. Combine the remaining donut ingredients in a blender and puree.
  5. Add the cooled cider to the blender and mix well.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the 12 donut pan wells.
  7. Bake for approximately 15 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  8. Cool the donuts on racks.
  9. Grind the coconut sugar and cinnamon together.
  10. Brush each donut with coconut oil and sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
