Ingredients

The compote

  • 3 cups fresh or frozen fruit (e.g., strawberries, bing cherries)
  • 3 Tbsp orange juice

Optional add-ins

  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp fresh or ground ginger
  • 1 tsp raw sugar
  • 1 tsp chia seeds

Instructions

  1. 1. Place the fruit and orange juice in a small saucepan and heat over medium.
  2. 2. Once bubbling, reduce heat slightly and mash the fruit with a wooden spoon.
  3. 3. Continue cooking on medium-low for 10-12 minutes, occasionally mashing the fruit.
  4. 4. Turn off the heat and add optional add-ins (cinnamon, ginger, sugar, chia seeds).
  5. 5. Remove from heat and transfer to a clean jar or container to cool.
  6. 6. Store in the fridge for up to 1 week or freeze in ice cube molds for up to 1 month.
