Ingredients

The asparagus

  • 1-1½ lb asparagus spears

The seasoning

  • 2 teaspoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  2. Trim and rinse the asparagus, then set in a strainer to drain excess water.
  3. Pat dry the asparagus with paper towels and place them on a cookie sheet.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  5. Drizzle olive oil over the asparagus and roll to coat.
  6. Sprinkle the seasoning over the asparagus and roll again to coat.
  7. Place the asparagus on a wire rack over a baking sheet or directly on a parchment-lined sheet.
  8. Bake in the upper third of the oven for 12-15 minutes, depending on desired tenderness.
  9. Remove from the oven and serve.
