Lamb Kofta Kebabs

Ingredients

The kofta

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tbsp ground coriander
  • 3 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp chopped mint
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika

The dipping sauce

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp Sriracha
  • 1 large bunch mint

Instructions

  1. Combine all kofta ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Form the mixture into oval balls the size of large meatballs.
  3. Insert pre-soaked bamboo skewers into the balls.
  4. Grill the koftas on a medium-high heat grill for about 3 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees.
  5. Oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
  6. Let the koftas rest under foil for 10 minutes after grilling.
  7. Grill the pita flatbread for a few minutes to warm it up.
  8. Serve the koftas with warm pita bread and Greek yogurt dipping sauce, garnished with chopped mint if desired.
