Classic Pumpkin Bread

  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • teaspoon ground ginger
  • cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • cup milk

Glaze (optional)

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon maple or vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon milk or cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a loaf pan.
  2. Make the streusel by mixing flour, brown sugar, and butter until crumbly, then freeze it.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and spices.
  4. In another bowl, combine sugar, pumpkin puree, eggs, oil, and milk, mixing well.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients, stirring until just mixed.
  6. Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and sprinkle the streusel on top.
  7. Bake for 60 to 70 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Prepare the glaze and drizzle it over the warm bread, allowing it to set before serving.
