Ingredients

The salmon

  • 1 lb salmon fillet
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • to taste white and black sesame seeds

The teriyaki sauce

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • ½ cup mirin
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine all teriyaki sauce ingredients in a saucepan and simmer until thickened.
  2. Heat a skillet over low to medium heat, add oil, and pan-sear the salmon skin-side down until crispy.
  3. Cover the pan to ensure the salmon cooks through.
  4. Remove the salmon, drizzle with teriyaki sauce, garnish with sesame seeds, and serve with steamed rice.
