Teriyaki Glazed Salmon

Ingredients

The salmon

  • 2 fillets salmon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp plain flour
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil

The teriyaki sauce

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp cooking sake
  • 2 tbsp mirin
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle salt over the salmon fillets on both sides and let them sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix soy sauce, sake, mirin, and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and set aside.
  3. Pat dry the salmon fillets with a kitchen towel and dust with plain flour, removing any excess flour.
  4. Heat the oil in a frying pan and add the salmon fillets skin side down.
  5. Cook the fillets for 2 minutes over medium-high heat, then turn them over.
  6. Add the teriyaki sauce to the pan and simmer until it thickens and the salmon is cooked through, occasionally drizzling the sauce over the fillets.
  7. Serve with plain cooked rice.
