Sautéed Swiss Chard

Ingredients

The chard

  • 2 bunches Swiss chard

The seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 wedge lemon

Instructions

  1. Slice the stems off the chard leaves and chop the stems into ¼-inch slices.
  2. Coarsely chop the leaves.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add the chard stems and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until they begin to soften.
  5. Add the chard leaves, garlic, salt, and pepper, and sauté for another 1 to 2 minutes until the leaves wilt.
  6. Turn off the heat, squeeze lemon juice over the chard, toss, and season to taste.
