Roasted Broccoli

Ingredients

The broccoli

  • 1¾ - 2 lbs broccoli crowns

The seasoning

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • to taste salt
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper

Optional ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp minced fresh garlic
  • 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Slice florets from the thick stalk and cut into individual florets.
  2. Preheat the oven to 450°F.
  3. Place broccoli on a rimmed baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.
  4. Toss the broccoli with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Spread the broccoli out evenly on the baking sheet and roast for about 11 - 13 minutes until lightly browned.
  6. Toss the broccoli and continue roasting for an additional 4 - 7 minutes until tender.
  7. If using garlic, add it during the last minute of roasting.
  8. Add lemon juice and parmesan cheese after removing from the oven, and serve warm.
