Ingredients

The scallops

  • 2 pounds large sea scallops, patted dry

The bacon and glaze

  • 1 pound bacon slices, cut in half crosswise
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • as needed cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the broiler and coat a sheet pan with cooking spray.
  2. Wrap each scallop with half a slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  3. Arrange the wrapped scallops in a single layer on the baking pan.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Brush half of the mixture over the top of each scallop.
  6. Broil for 10-15 minutes until the bacon is crisp and the scallops are cooked through, brushing with the remaining sauce halfway through.
  7. Sprinkle with parsley and serve.
