Chocolate Nutella Cookie Bars

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¾ cup Dutch processed cocoa
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 ¼ cups chocolate chunks
  • ½ cup Nutella
  • to taste sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, sea salt, and cocoa.
  3. Cream butter and sugars together until smooth, then add eggs one at a time and mix in vanilla.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture and beat until just combined, then stir in chocolate chunks.
  5. Divide the dough in half and press half into the prepared pan.
  6. Spread Nutella over the dough and top with the remaining cookie dough.
  7. Sprinkle with sea salt and bake for 30 minutes until set around the edges.
  8. Cool on a rack, cut into squares, and serve.
