Ingredients

The dough

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Fleischmann’s® RapidRise® Yeast
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • cup lukewarm milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter

The filling

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon baking cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 pinch kosher salt
  • 3 ounces dark chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon espresso or very strongly brewed coffee

The glaze

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 pinch kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons strongly brewed coffee or espresso

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Add warm milk and beaten eggs, then mix until combined.
  3. Knead in butter cubes until smooth, then let the dough rise for 30 minutes.
  4. Prepare the filling by mixing butter, cocoa powder, flour, sugars, and salt until smooth, then add melted chocolate and coffee.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the filling, roll it up, and slice into rolls.
  6. Let the rolls rise for an additional 45 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven and bake the rolls until golden brown.
  8. Prepare the cream cheese icing by mixing cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and coffee until smooth.
  9. Pour icing over the warm rolls and serve.
