Ingredients

Method 1

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice or white vinegar

Method 2

  • ¾ cup plain unsweetened yogurt or sour cream
  • ¼ cup milk

Method 3

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 ¾ teaspoons cream of tartar

Instructions

  1. For Method 1, pour milk into a measuring glass or jug and stir in lemon juice or vinegar. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  2. For Method 2, add yogurt or sour cream into a bowl and stir in milk until fully combined. The mixture should be the consistency of heavy cream.
  3. For Method 3, pour milk into a glass jar or bowl and stir in cream of tartar. Let it stand for 5-10 minutes until slightly thickened.
