Ingredients

  • 12 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 ½ cups dark brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chunks, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a square pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang.
  2. Coat the parchment-lined pan with cooking spray.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and brown sugar until combined.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until smooth.
  5. Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt until just combined.
  6. Fold in 1 ½ cups of chocolate chunks into the dough.
  7. Spread the dough evenly in the prepared pan and press the remaining ½ cup of chocolate chunks on top.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until light golden brown and a toothpick comes out with a few crumbs.
  9. Let cool, then use the parchment overhang to remove from the pan and cut into squares.
