Ingredients

The batter

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 ¼ cups light brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

The dry ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Add-ins

  • ¾ cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Line a 13 x 9 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  3. Melt the unsalted butter in a saucepan or microwave.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar, mixing well.
  5. Add the eggs, egg yolk, and vanilla extract to the mixture and stir until combined.
  6. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt.
  7. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  8. Fold in the white chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few crumbs.
  11. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
