Brown Butter Blondies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted or salted butter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Maldon sea salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • cups packed light or dark brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • cup white chocolate

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease it with butter.
  2. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until it smells nutty and turns brown, about 10 minutes. Let it cool slightly.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and whisk in the brown sugar, browned butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients and stir until just mixed. Add in any desired mix-ins.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
