Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and prepare a 9-inch square pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine the browned or melted butter with brown sugar, then mix in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients, then fold in the butterscotch morsels and walnuts if using.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- Allow the blondies to cool completely in the pan before cutting.
