Ingredients

  • 2 1/8 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 12 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • ½ cup salted caramel sauce
  • to taste sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F and prepare a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and sea salt.
  3. In a stand mixer, combine melted butter and sugars until mixed well.
  4. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix until just combined, then stir in butterscotch chips.
  6. Press half of the dough into the prepared pan, drizzle salted caramel sauce over it, then top with the remaining dough.
  7. Sprinkle sea salt over the top and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool on a wire rack, cut into squares, and serve.
