BBQ Turkey Meatloaf

Ingredients

The meatloaf

  • 1.5 lbs ground turkey
  • 1 small yellow onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp bbq sauce
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • ½ cup almond flour
  • ¼ cup chopped parsley

The topping

  • ½ cup bbq sauce
  • ½ cup ketchup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, add the ground turkey and grate the yellow onion into it, or chop it finely.
  3. Add minced garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, and onion powder, then stir until combined.
  4. Incorporate the egg, bbq sauce, ketchup, almond flour, and parsley, mixing until well combined.
  5. Transfer the mixture onto the baking sheet and form it into a loaf shape (about 9x5 inches).
  6. Mix the bbq sauce and ketchup in a small bowl, then brush this mixture over the top of the meatloaf.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 170°F, then let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
