Ingredients

The Muffins

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Cinnamon Streusel

  • cup all-purpose flour
  • cup lightly packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted

Glaze

  • 3 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the sugar, melted butter, eggs, sour cream, milk, and vanilla until combined.
  3. Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the streusel, then add melted butter and combine until crumbly.
  5. Scoop about 2 tablespoons of muffin batter into each liner, sprinkle with 2-3 teaspoons of streusel, then add another 2 tablespoons of batter on top.
  6. Sprinkle a bit more streusel on top of each muffin.
  7. Bake for 15-17 minutes until the tops spring back when touched.
  8. For the glaze, mix cream cheese, butter, and vanilla until creamy, then add powdered sugar and milk, mixing until smooth.
  9. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled muffins.
