Ingredients

The beef and vegetables

  • 16 ounces flank steak, sliced ¼ inch thick
  • 1 tablespoon light olive oil, divided
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 8 ounces broccoli florets
  • 10 ounces frozen cauliflower rice, cooked (for serving)

The sauce

  • ½ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons Tamari Soy Sauce (or liquid coconut aminos)
  • 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
  • ½ teaspoon Better Than Bouillon Beef Base

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients by mincing garlic and ginger, cutting broccoli into florets, and slicing the flank steak.
  2. Heat a skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add half of the olive oil.
  3. Brown the beef for 30 seconds on one side, then turn it over and cook until done. Remove the beef and keep warm.
  4. Add the remaining olive oil to the pan, then add garlic and ginger, stirring until fragrant.
  5. Add the sauce and broccoli to the pan, stirring briefly, then cover to steam until the broccoli is crisp-tender.
  6. Remove the broccoli and reduce the sauce to a few tablespoons.
  7. Return the beef and broccoli to the pan, warming through and coating with the sauce.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve.
