Ingredients

The beef and sauce

  • 2 pounds flank steak
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • ½ cup soy sauce or liquid aminos
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil

The vegetables

  • 4 cups broccoli

Seasoning

  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Instructions

  1. Slice the flank steak against the grain into bite-sized pieces and place in a mixing bowl.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together coconut oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice, and apple cider vinegar, then pour over the steak and mix well.
  3. Heat a non-stick pan with one tablespoon of sesame oil over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the marinated steak and half the sauce to the pan, searing for 5 minutes while turning halfway through.
  5. Add the second tablespoon of sesame oil, then add the broccoli and the remaining sauce.
  6. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until the broccoli is tender, then reduce heat and simmer until the broccoli reaches your desired texture.
