Ingredients

The chicken

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 large eggs

The coating

  • 1 cup finely shredded parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup plain breadcrumbs
  • teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • teaspoon smoked paprika

The sauce

  • 1 cup marinara sauce

Cooking supplies

  • as needed spray olive oil cooking spray
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (if using baked method)

Instructions

  1. Prep the chicken by pounding it to ½-inch thickness.
  2. Whisk the eggs in one bowl and mix parmesan, breadcrumbs, and spices in another.
  3. Dip each chicken breast in the egg mixture, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 375ºF and spray the basket with cooking spray.
  5. Cook the chicken for 6 minutes, then flip and top with marinara and parmesan.
  6. Cook for an additional 5-6 minutes until the chicken reaches 165ºF.
