Honey Butter Cloverleaf Rolls

The topping

unsalted butter, melted, divided

honey
Instructions
- Whisk together the warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a small bowl, then whisk in the egg and egg yolk.
- In a stand mixer with a dough hook, mix the flour and salt, then gradually add the milk mixture and knead until a dough forms.
- Add the softened butter gradually and continue kneading until the dough is smooth.
- Transfer the dough to an oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm area until doubled in size, about 45 minutes.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 36 equal pieces, rolling each into a smooth ball.
- Place 3 balls in each muffin cup of a greased muffin tin, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 20 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake the rolls until golden brown, about 15 minutes.
- Mix the remaining melted butter with honey and brush it on the warm rolls before serving.
