Ingredients

The dough

  • 2 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 and 1/4 teaspoons Platinum Yeast
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg

The filling

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

The icing

  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk or heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough by mixing the dry ingredients and then adding the warm milk mixture and egg.
  2. Knead the dough until it is soft and slightly tacky, then let it rest for 30 minutes.
  3. Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter on top, and sprinkle with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Cut the dough into strips, roll them up, and place them in a greased pan to form a large cinnamon roll.
  5. Cover the cake and let it rise until doubled in size, about 1-2 hours.
  6. Bake the cake until golden brown, approximately 30-35 minutes.
  7. Prepare the icing by whisking together the icing ingredients and drizzle over the warm cake.
